Just down (or up) the road from Leicester is the town of Salisbury. It’s another town you kind of pass through on your way up and down Route 7. Salisbury boasts Branbury State Park on the northern half of Lake Dunmore. Like Leicester this is one of those quite small places with beautiful views and Vermont landscapes and well kept residential neighborhoods.

DSCN9704Loathe as I am to say that any Vermont town is ordinary, Leicester falls into that category. Let’s say that even ordinary towns in Vermont are extraordinary. It doesn’t take long to visit Leicester. There’s a lovely mixture of rural and residential if you explore of the beaten path of Route 7. Leicester also contains the southern half of Lake Dunmore which boasts a very fine state park. I have also recently learned that Leicester contains an unincorporated community called Satan’s Kingdom (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satans_Kingdom,_Vermont). I’ll have to look up that story.
